My dogs got me a dollar savings account!

With so many issues and controversies popping up for the past few weeks within the Philippine Blogosphere, I need a break. Whatever relaxation I got from a long weekend in Angeles City and Subic Bay was zapped as fast as blinking as soon as I saw the mess that was the Pinoy blogosphere. So I thought of writing about something lighter.

My dogs got me a dollar savings account!

I used to tease Marc, my husband, that my dogs are “earning” more than he was in blogging, but never really thought much about it. But yeah, come to think of it, the majority of my blogging income comes from my dog-inspired blogs. Read more

It’s time for a redesign

As usual, I didn’t make my planned Valentines’ Day release. Just like last year, I didn’t finish the new Kutitots design on time 😛 Maybe it’s meant to be that way. Hehe.

So, what’s so special about Valentines’ Day anyway? Well, for one thing, that’s the day when I acquired the Kutitots domain. I thought that it would be “meaningful” if I re-launched my site’s design every time the site turns a year older, but for some reason, I can’t seem to meet the deadline I set for myself.

There really isn’t much to expect from the new design really. I’m sticking with my nature-and-green scheme. Blue is actually my favorite color, but green has somehow already gotten stuck with Kutitots so let’s just leave it like that. I made a promise to myself that I would be updating blog more often than once every four days, so I re-designed the layout in such a way that I would seem to be updating regularly 🙂 To be honest, I intentionally made this current design to show only the latest post on the home page for the simple reason that I didn’t want to call attention to my lack of updates.

What else to expect? Nothing much, except maybe for the fact that it would have a more “bloggy feel” into it as opposed to the current’s “news type” style. Just so I would get pressured to finish the layout, here’s a screenshot:

I swear I’ll have this up soon. We already got some good souls volunteering to help out at the 2007 Philippine Blog Awards, so I guess I’ll have a tad bit more time in my hands (not much, but enough). Right now, my inbox is a total disaster area (that’s a good thing really, it means there are a lot of Awards entries!). If you already sent me an email about volunteering for the event, I’m sorry I haven’t replied yet. The amount of emails I’ve been getting… Let’s just say I nearly fainted when I opened my inbox after being gone for just a day. So please don’t think I ignored you—we really appreciate the help (and we need it), but I’m just taking a bit of time going through my mail at the moment.

My Christmas pledge

There are many things I’m grateful for. Two years ago, my mother suffered a stroke. Other than having her right side paralyzed (which is slowly improving each day), she’s ok. My sister is also recovering from Schizophrenia. Although the cost of their medicines is very expensive, my dad and I are glad that my sister and mom are getting well.

Because of these blessings, my dad made it his pledge to visit Quiapo Church every year and take part in its Feast. I know for a fact that I won’t be able to keep up with a pledge like that, so I just made my own.

I pledged to design and develop a website for two (2) legal non-profit organizations every year.

Right now, I’m only looking for one more—I’ve already promised a local seminary that I’ll make their blog. If you’re part of a non-profit organization and you need a site, please send me an email at kutitots(at)gmail(dot)com with the following details:

  • Organization’s name
  • Purpose of the organization
  • Short description of the organization
  • Year established and incorporated
  • Contact person
  • Contact numbers (mobile and phone)
  • Why you need the website

Please submit these details on or before December 30—I’ll be picking the organization and announce it on New Year’s Day. If I don’t pick your organization, please don’t feel bad. Since SheeroMedia will be providing the domain and hosting, Marc and I will deliberate on which organization needs the site the most based on the submissions we’ll receive. Besides, if I’m not too busy, I might take on another one. I’ll just make an announcement here in my blog when that happens. But for now, I can only handle one site.

Oh, and before I forget… Calling all Manila-based bloggers! I hope you guys can attend the Blogger Christmas Party tomorrow (December 22) in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (Mall of Asia, South wing) at 7PM. Kutitots will be giving away goodie bags for the first 20 attendees we’ll meet when Marc and I get there 🙂 Head over Abe’s blog now to confirm your attendance!

I’m finally done with customizing the template of my photo/art/design blog, PIXELIERA. I didn’t originally intended for it to serve that purpose, but hey, people can change their minds ) Anyway, PIXELIERA would technically be my artsy dump site. And for this one, I’m allowing anybody download my work—free of charge.

I don’t really know what came over me and decided to make the contents free to everyone. Oh, well. Maybe because it’s Christmas. Or maybe I’m hoping (*hint, hint*) that people will be grateful enough for the freebie stuff they’re getting to the point that they’ll be glad to CLICK on my Google Ads. D

Anyway, do check PIXELIERA out when you have time. I’ve just started adding stuff there, so you won’t see much posts yet.
