I’m going to WordCamp Philippines!

Finally, we have a WordCamp here.

I’m actually very excited to go to WordCamp Philippines 2008 for a number of reasons. One, because I love WordPress, I’m such a nerd, and I would feel incredibly unfulfilled if I don’t go. Two, our web design business is expanding and we’re in the look-out for budding CSS encoders and PHP programmers. And three, because I’m a fan-girl of Matt Mullenweg and would love to get his autograph and have my picture taken with him!

If reason number three isn’t good enough a reason, I don’t know what is 😀 Read more

2008 Kutitots redesign

I make sure to redesign this blog at least once a year. I try as much as possible to release the new design on the 14th of February, Valentine’s Day and my blog’s anniversary. It usually depends on how busy I am at work, and this year’s design launch is worst ever: I’m more than five months delayed 😛

But… Here it is. The 10th redesign of Kutitots.Com since 2003. I’m frankly not very pleased with it. Not trying to be modest, but really, there’s nothing special about it. I was just getting too tired of the ads cluttered around my blog. I still care about monetizing Kutitots, but no longer at the expense of my design.

I’m a part-time pro-blogger, but I will always be a full-time web designer. Read more

On changing habits: Gradual change or cold turkey?

Whew. I finally got to blog. I haven’t been totally out of commission though… I’m still giving Plurk its much-needed attention 😀

For the past two months, Marc and I had been eating nothing but meat. I think the only vegetable part of our daily consumption were tomatoes. Sometimes we have lettuce, pechay, kang-kong, corn and string beans, but not on a regular basis. The experiments I did in the kitchen were mostly of beef or pork—rarely of fish.

Last week I was already getting fed up with eating meat… Somehow, I feel “unhealthier” than I used to. Receiving emails about animal slaughter and abuse (I’m subscribed to Philippine Animal Welfare Society’s mailing list) doesn’t help either—they made me more inclined not to want to eat meat. I don’t think I can go fully vegetarian, but I can cut off meat completely. Question is… Can my husband? Read more

Nope, I haven’t forgotten the second part of our Coron Adventure 🙂 I do have to admit though, Plurk did get me a bit side-tracked. But really. I’m horrible when it comes to remembering names and places, so I waited for my other traveling companions to post about their experiences 😀

So, where was I? Ah. The second part of our trip! If haven’t read the first part yet, go here. If not, read on! WARNING: This post has a LOT of photos. Read more

At the Buhay Coke blog event!

I‘ve been meaning to blog this earlier, but Marc thought the weekend was the best time to format our hard drive and install a brand-new copy of Windows Vista. We wanted to get the Business version, but it was just way too expensive (Vista Home Basic is only about one-fourth of the cost of the Business version). Anyway, moving on 🙂

Buhay Coke ng Bloggers last Friday was actually my sister’s first-ever blogging event. Actually, it was the first party (with a lot of people) she attended with me (just me and Marc, and without our parents) ever since she got sick.
