Finally, a new blog theme!

I was planning to launch this new theme last February 14, but life (and work) happened. In case you’re wondering, I haven’t turned sappy and decided February 14 was such a romantic day it deserved a blog theme launch. Valentine’s Day happened to be the day I bought the Kutitots.Com domain, and saved myself from living with a totally disgusting domain such as (can you believe I actually considered that for a blog name? Gah, I surprise myself sometimes).

So what brought about the new theme? Nothing much. The old one was just really — well, old. I grew tired of it. Unfortunately, the web designer side of me trumped the blogger side — I just couldn’t bring myself to blog when I thought my layout was already fugly.

Does that mean I’ll be blogging more? Well, maybe. It took me around two months of almost-regular blogging on the recently-revamped Pinoy Dog-Lover before I got distracted with other things again (ie. work). I guess we’ll just have to wait and see 🙂

Got a few kinks to polish in this new theme. I’ve also kept the design as simple as possible, but hopefully it’ll take a while before I get tired of it again.

Can you cross the Bridge to Terabithia?

Lame title, I know. But makes sense.

Since I couldn’t join Abe and the others for a weekend on the beach (I had the makings of a bad cold the night before, and I just can’t get sick with all the work I needed to do), Marc and I saw the Bridge to Terabithia last Saturday with my sister and his sister. We actually thought it would be some kind of a Narnia-turned-Lord-of-the-Rings kind of movie, but no. It was just a story about two kids with overactive imaginations.

These kids created a magical world of their own, where they also named themselves the king and the queen. But to go there, they must “cross the bridge” by swinging over a creek and make their minds “go wide open.” It’s a pretty sad story, but for some reason, their overactive imagination reminded me of my own.

I can’t say that they reminded me of me when I was a kid. Because as much as I don’t want to admit it—I still do let my imagination run wild. Besides, if I don’t, I probably won’t be writing entries on this blog, nor would I be earning from web/blog design.

So, back to my question. What I meant by “crossing” is being able to go into that “magical” world where anything is possible—the world of creative imagination. Read more

New holiday layout!

I thought it would be nice to change the layout in time for the Christmas season. I’ve actually been working on this for quite some time now (I’ve been practicing my CSS skills), and I haven’t really been allowed to change the layout during the PWA period. Since that’s done, here you go!

Before anybody complains… Yes, there ARE still unfinished parts of this layout. The tagboard still sports the CSS for the Yin and Yang layout, and the entries aren’t categorized yet. And please don’t be hurt if you can’t see your link on my Linkage page, I still haven’t finished migrating them from my Flash version.

If you’re wondering whether or not I’ll be taking down the Flash site… No, I’m not. Making that was a real pain in the arse. I just thought that since I update my blog more (actually, I RARELY update the Flash site’s content), it might be better if this was the “main show.” The Flash site will just be an archive. Besides, I have big plans for this blog. Just stay tuned! I don’t want to say anything about it yet, because I might change my mind in the middle of it.

Anyway, I’ve tested this layout in both Mozilla and Internet Explorer. I’m still too lazy to download Opera for now, so if that’s what you’re using and there happens to be a bug in my CSS, please do tell me. I also haven’t tested it in Safari, I don’t have a Mac. Oh, how I wish I did!

By the way… I’ve been planning to redirect my domain name,, straight to this blog. Does anybody know how to do that? Any help will be much appreciated! I’m really not a programmer, you know. )
