For the past few days, I’ve probably visited gazillion blogs (well, fine, make that just more than 200) in order to verify if the link that was provided works. I sometimes stay long enough to read a few lines, but I rarely leave comments. Some of you might have seen my MyBlogLog profile on your sidebar, and wondered why I didn’t leave my mark. Let’s just say that if I left a message on each and every site I’ve check, we’d be announcing winners for this year’s Blog Awards next year—it would just take too long.
Visiting all these blogs reminded me of Jayvee’s post where he asked his readers about their blog convictions. Since I would feel bad if I wasn’t included in his blogroll, I told a bit of mine. But sometimes you get to visit so many blogs of different views and convictions, you get to a point when you really ask yourself about your own.
Why do I blog?
There are many different things that come to mind. But let’s just look at five of them, shall we?
Maybe it’s because I’ve been leaning towards Reason Number 5 that’s why I’ve been blogging a bit more often lately (hey, that’s three days in a row!)—I don’t know. Probably. The past few days, I seem to have more things to talk about. Ordinary, every day things. And for some reason, I’ve been having this weird appreciation for simple things coming to life.
My dad was right. Beauty can come in even the plainest of packages—it is how you look at it and appreciate it that makes the difference.
I blog because it helps me better appreciate the things that people usually ignore.
How about you? Why do you blog?

hey! neat site!
well, as for your question, i blog to cook and vice versa…does that make sense? lol! but really, this blogging thing pushed me to learn more about cooking, pinoy food or not and eventually became an outlet too for my other passion which is, just like you…design!
great to have bumped into your site!
Hi Gail,
Reason #1 & #5 for me. =)
As for me on why I blog, mainly because I am an
OFW and blogging copes my homesickness specially at times when I long for my family and want someone to talk to.
Same as your #3 reason and then I also blog because I want to share information to others that they might find useful and helpful. :)
I blog because I want to be a millionaire like the rest of the bloggers here.
Mine are “emo” reasons. Hehe. I collect memories. It’s like a diary for me.
I blog to push a cause that is bigger than myself to the forefront of people’s consciousness. If I could do that with my work – even if they diss me to kingdomcome — then my objective has already been met.
@benj
Son…We are proud of you that you are trying to make a difference. Wouldn’t you agree Gail? I am just make a meal ticket or a million. I want to be a multi-millionaire like dem’ rest of the blogging cats in here. Ya heard me?
…Ito ang naging paraan ko upang makausap ang mundo at ibalik sa kanya ang nararapat na paggalang at respeto.
I’ll go for #3, blogging for me is a therapy…that takes away my stress….ooohhh :P
#3 for me, and I’d like some french fries with it. :)
From chatter to blogger, I guess I’ve matured harharhar.
I’m really pretty quiet IRL. When I’m with other people, I usually observe and listen. I’ve been corrected so many times by my father for being tactless when I was younger, now I’d like to be able to edit myself first.
reasons 1 and 3 are for me :)
To keep my sanity. Home is where im happy, but I cannot go back to My Family. When I left , i ceased to exist, but I promised my Family that I will always be with them. I told them always is always forever..blogging keeps me sane..

One of my most favorite reasons: To keep myself sane. :)
i posted a comment about this same topic to jayvee’s post, but it’s still awaiting approval. (i wonder, sino kaya mauna sa inyo na pumansin sa reply kong ito?)
ok, about your question … (i copy-paste ko na lang kaya from my comment to jayvee? you both have different visitors naman, eh)
that is my passion, and i am a pro-blogger …. NOT!
actually i am a 2 months old (irregular) blogger. ‘newbie’ as you may call it. but when i have seen the abounding potential in blogging, i want to try it myself. and my first blog project was a product of my T.A.E. method (trial and error) – i used blogger.com – put the codes i like, scripts, tools, widgets, glitters, optimization and many other ‘ek-eks’, until i’m satisfied with my curiosity. But i almost forgot to fill it with quality contents which i am supposed to give to my readers, so i dropped it. :-)
now i am blogging for free at i.Ph and my initial curiosity is now evolving, giving me a clearer picture of my (ano nga ba ulit ‘yun? … scrolled-up … ayun) “conviction”. (yeah!)
i guess i should post it first on my blog entry, which i plan to do tomorrow, which perhaps will be done on monday (i hope so). i want to compose my thought and emotions first before i can translate it in a nice “my conviction” entry, written in fewer words than i said it here.
(i hope i didn’t upset you of my wordiness, but this is my freestyle of writing.)
but to (*cut the crap*) answer briefly what is my conviction in my blog, it’s about one word, “SALVATION”.
“Sinag, Sinagiph” is my blog title, (which suggests the phrase “Ako’y Pinoy (i.Ph) na Nasinagan, at Sinagip”. and i’d like to lay all my basis to prove that little by little.
anyone can have all their prejudices against me (even you … hehe, peace :-P ) but i’m seriously honest about it.
well, that’s the raw of it. you better check my blog for the rest of “my conviction” post. :-)
I blog for “sex”!!! hehehe
Marc, panalo! Hahaha.
I blog because I TRY to write and I am looking for a new GF. Hahaha. girls call me :)
